Today was Members' Day at the Henry Doorly Zoo; it was quite fun, despite the heat. Just finished uploading photos.
Writerly Pursuits
The novelizing is going quite well. Good initial feedback on my first few chapters. Maybe I'll post some sample here.
Also, I'm getting in gear to do a series of photos of live poetry readings. I'm sure I'll post some here so stay tuned.
RETURN!!!
I disappeared for a while there! It's mostly been problems with google chrome... or at least that's how it started. Also haven't taken very many good photos right now. Looking for my last prints I knocked off last week, can't remember where I put them, but there may be something in there to upload. Stay tuned, I'll find them yet!
Also, for a class I have to twit as part of my participation grade. I was dreading it, because I always vowed that I would never be a twitter kid. I just never liked the whole 140 character limitation; most of my fiction is incredibly short (>1500 words), but I'm really quite verbose. Just created my twitter account
Rare bout of vanity
I rarely use myself as the subject of any of my art, but I decided to do a digital painting of myself for profile pictures on various websites. It took my 3 days working 6 hours on the first to days and 2 hours today, but it's done! Don't expect any more self-portraits for a long time. In fact, the only photos I've appeared in in the past 2+ years have been heavily modified and recycled into animations and video pieces I did for portfolio padding when I was a film student; if you're lucky, I'll upload them. I'm generally pretty shy, though.
Artist Kitty
I'm working on a digital self portrait in Painter and of course my cat wants to help. Whenever I want to do anything at all creative she has to intervene. It doesn't help that I work best on the floor. At least this is digital and mistakes are easily undone; when I'm painting I'm always having to go over cat prints and tweezers have become one of my main tools (I spend hours picking every cat hair out of my paintings as they dry).
